Welcome to COM'on the Society for Cardiovascular Pathology Case of the Month. Every month or so we will post a new COM'on and we invite everyone to give us their best diagnosis. If you follow SCVP on Twitter, we will send out a tweet each time a new COM'on has been posted.

Case #17 - A 58-year-old HIV+, HCV+ man had interesting histologic findings in his heart at autopsy.

 

Case #16 - A 65-year-old man was found to have a left atrial mass.

 

Case #15 - A 31-year-old woman who underwent cardiac transplantation 7 years earlier presents for a routine endomyocardial biopsy.

 

Case #14 - A 49-year-old woman with Noonan Syndrome underwent mitral valve replacement and atrial appendage removal.

 

Case #13 - A 26 5/7 week female fetus had in utero demise. An autopsy was unremarkable except for accelerated placental maturation and this heart finding.

 

Case #12 - A 35-year-old woman has a mass in the IVC adjacent to the right atrium removed.

 

Case #11 - A 60-year-old man underwent removal of his ascending aorta.

 

Case #10 - A 42-year-old woman underwent aortic valve replacement.

 

Case #9 - A 60-year-old woman underwent a surveillance biopsy for her heart transplant.

 

Case #8 - A 57-year-old man underwent cardiac transplantation for idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.

 

Case #7 - A 50-year-old woman has an ascending aortic aneurysm and undergoes repair and valve replacement.

 

Case #6 - A 54-year-old woman undergoes endomyocardial biopsy in the setting of weight loss, edema and abnormal lab values.

 

Case #5 - An 83-year-old man undergoes aortc valve replacement.

 

Case #4 - A 71-year-old woman has new onset heart failure with a possible restrictive physiology.

 

Case #3 - A 67-year-old woman has right sided valvular heart disease.

 

Case #2 - A 46-year-old man has a two year history of hypertension and pulmonary embolism.

 

Case #1 - A 27-year-old man presents with a history of dyspnea. Endomyocardial biopsy is performed.
